At Senior Care of North Texas, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care to you and your loved ones. We believe this starts with providing highly-trained caregivers who are committed to excellent service and the highest standards of ethics. We do not believe caring for people and delivering excellent service is a “one size, fits all” program. As an independently owned and operated business, we have the flexibility to adapt our services to provide the most outstanding care.
Thomas Rhodes – Founder
Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Thomas has been a serial entrepreneur all his life but starting this business was truly more of a calling. “When I saw my grandmother in a nursing home, I felt compassion for her and those around her, and I wanted to start a company where I would be blessed to honor these men and women in the latter part of their lives.” Thomas attributes the success of this company to the amazing team he has in place. “Without Amy, Carol and Sandy this company would not be the success it is today. I am blessed to have them on my team and marvel and how they love and care for others.”
When not working, Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife – Molly, and their three boys; Jackson, Tucker, and Jonathan.
Amy McCleery – President, Alternate Administrator, LVN
As a licensed nurse, Amy has the heart to help others and has dedicated over 24 years to the medical industry. While working with seniors at an Alzheimer’s community in San Antonio, TX, Amy fell in love with her caregiver role. “As part of my job, I was blessed to hear these incredible stories from these wonderful men and women, and I enjoyed their companionship and caring for them.” Soon after, Amy opened and operated multiple agencies across the country.
Amy has held roles ranging from executive level management where she led over 450 caregivers, Consultancy, Practice Management, and Director of Operations but her most important role currently is her role as a wife to her husband Greg, grandmother to her 2 sweet grandchildren, and mother to her two pet pigs – Harriett and Huxley.
Carol White – Administrator
Carol may have grown up in the small town of Trenton, TX but she has a heart as big as The Lone Star State. Everyone loves Carol and she puts a smile on all our faces. She says, “I learned to love being a caregiver when I cared for my father after his 5th heart attack. It was that sweet experience with my father when I knew this is what I would do for the rest of my life.”
With over 23 years in the Health Care industry, she has extensive experience in Acute Care, Home Health, Hospice, and Personal Assistance Service companies. In addition, she has completed coursework through the Department of Aging and Disability as an Administrator and was also a Medical Assistant for a urology office.
Carol truly loves caring for seniors and children. With 8 stepchildren and 2 foster children, her role as a mother is her proudest achievement. Outside of work, Carol enjoys spending time with her family and cheering on her favorite basketball, baseball, and football teams.
Sandy Umutoniwase – Office Manager
Sandy was born and raised in East Africa and came to the US over 12 years ago where she obtained a Bachelors of Science at Buena Vista University. Her passion to help others started when she was only 8 years old while caring for her mother in Rwanda. Sandy has over 10 years of professional caregiving experience and says: “Taking care of someone to me is not a job; rather, it’s part of who I am and I enjoy doing it.”
She is a married mother of two amazing children and while at home she enjoys cooking and baking with her daughter and playing video games with her son.
